Position Overview
Weβre looking for experienced and motivated Loan Officers ready to make the jump from retail lending to independent mortgage brokering.
This role is ideal for someone whoβs spent at least two years in mortgage origination, understands the sales process, and wants more control β over pricing, programs, process, and profit. Youβll leverage Matadorβs broker platform, lender relationships, and technology to grow your pipeline and elevate your business.

Build & Manage Your Pipeline
Source leads through your existing referral partners, past clients, and new relationships.
Engage with real estate agents, builders, and investors to generate consistent loan volume.
Leverage Matadorβs free CRM and marketing tools to stay top-of-mind and automate follow-up.
Originate & Structure Loans
Pre-qualify borrowers and determine the best products across Matadorβs 70+ lenders.
Present loan options clearly and guide clients through every step of the process.
Submit clean, complete files to our contract processors and underwriting teams for fast closings.
Deliver an Exceptional Borrower Experience
Maintain proactive communication with clients, agents, and partners throughout the transaction.
Ensure compliance with all regulations and internal processes.
Strive for 5-star reviews and repeat business through personalized service and integrity.

Requirements
β‘ Active NMLS license (Texas preferred; FL, GA, CA also welcome)
β‘ Minimum 2 years of experience in residential mortgage origination
β‘ Demonstrated ability to generate and close self-sourced business
β‘ Familiarity with ARIVE, Encompass, or similar LOS platforms
β‘ Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines across major loan programs
β‘ Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset β you manage your own pipeline
Compensation
